Optimize your language configuration in SCHEMA ST4

Attention technical writers!

SCHEMA ST4 is the powerful XML editing system for professional technical documentation. But when it comes to language variants, questions can quickly arise - or, even worse, unnoticed errors. What is behind the terms “entry language” and “source language”, for example, and how can you correct mistakes yourself?

In our 45-minute webinar with Quanos expert Dieter Pichl you will learn:

  • A clear overview of the language and regional settings in SCHEMA ST4

  • What options are available and how can you use them correctly?

  • Practical tips on how to avoid and correct errors in the language configuration.

We will show you these use cases live:

  • Entry language vs. source language - what's the difference? Everything has to start right, because that's the only way the entire process works. Even the first decision as to which language to record depends on the details. To understand the difference between acquisition language and source language, let's look at different node classes (e.g. text, graphic, variable) so that it's clear from the start.

  • How does the source language affect the translation?
Typically, the input language is also the first source language. But what happens if further translations are to be created from the first translation? How do you proceed then?

  • Help with errors: What to do if the wrong entry language has been set?
Mistakes happen - that's completely normal. But don't worry: if you know how to quickly adjust the settings yourself, errors will disappear and your work will run smoothly again.

THE WEBINAR IS AIMED AT:
